glows with all the beauty

My grandmother told my mom one of the most wonderful ideas of being a mom. "You must love them with open arms." This being that one day they will come back.. and know that you are there to take them back again and again. I think this is such a profound idea... one I hope to share with my children and remember when it seems most difficult to let them go and be strong on their own.

A Mother's love is something
that no on can explain,
It is made of deep devotion
and of sacrifice and pain,
It is endless and unselfish
and enduring come what may
For nothing can destroy it
or take that love away . . .
It is patient and forgiving
when all others are forsaking,
And it never fails or falters
even though the heart is breaking . . .
It believes beyond believing
when the world around condemns,
And it glows with all the beauty
of the rarest, brightest gems . . .
It is far beyond defining,
it defies all explanation,
And it still remains a secret
like the mysteries of creation . . .

Kim, I so enjoy every moment I get to spend with your family. God definitely knew what he was doing when He had our paths cross. We may not have understood it then... but I think we do now. Being a mama is one of the most rewarding and trying of all vocations! You are an amazing mama.... and a great friend!
